The Faculty provides a range of fee paying short courses and professional development programs, the details of which can be found in the short course/professional development section of the Faculty website.
Short courses can vary in length from a few hours to a semester long program, although to 1 to 5 days is common. Some short courses offer an assessment option for studnets whole others do not. Where they are assessed, some attract credit and can be articulated into award courses.
There are many opportunities to start short courses. For example:
-
You may have special expertise that would lend itself readily to a short course and potentially attract a market
-
A unit in an existing award program, or an elective you provide, might lend itself to repackaging as a short course.
Should you have an interest or some ideas about setting up such a program, the short course officer in the Development Office can advise you. The Development Office manages all administrative aspects of the program, the course developer is responsible only for its academic components.
