Terms of reference (leadership)

Leadership, organisational structure and management

To advise the Faculty on:

  1. The performance of the Faculty's leadership and management in maintaining and developing the academic standing and reputation of the Faculty.
  2. The alignment of the Faculty's vision for teaching and learning, research and research training, and the faculty environment, and its development strategy with university strategic directions and policy and planning documents ( Leading the Way ; Learning and Teaching Plan ; Research and Research Training Management Plan ; Support Services Directions ; Global Development Plan ).
  3. The effectiveness of the Faculty's organisational structure and its policies and procedures in promoting, realising and sustaining positive outcomes in relation to its vision and its development strategy, considering such matters as:
    • quality assurance
    • organisational climate
    • consultation both within and beyond the Faculty
    • staff development and performance management
    • financial management including the alignment of planning, budgeting and funding
    • realising equity objectives
    • risk management.
