Probation & reclassification for general staff
Probation
The probation period for general staff is in usually three months. Exceptions
to this will be clearly stated in your letter of offer to which you should
refer if in doubt.
Reclassification
Monash University general staff are classified in accordance with the
10 level HEW structure, according to the position's functions and responsibilities.
The position description reflects the duties and responsibilities of
the position not the performance or ability of the incumbent occupying
the position.
It's important to note that a staff member would be eligible to apply
to the Faculty for position reclassification only if the duties and responsibilities
of the position have significantly changed.
